Letter from our Winemaker/Master Oenologist, Antonio Maccieri

I was born here in Italy's beautiful Reggio Emilia and I've been making wine all my life. So, as you might imagine, it is a paticular passion of mine. My knowledge of grapes and winemaking is the product of extensive education as well as experience. But as I see it, there should be no snobbery involved in the making or drinking of wine.

That's why I put a lifetime of expertise to work every day creating wine that people like me can enjoy not only at the table, but while reading, listening to music or cheering for the local team. This requires combining my hard-earned traditional sensibility with the latest innovations. The result is an extraordinary line of popularly priced, supremely drinkable everyday wines for people who enjoy life.

Our region is proud of a winemaking tradition dating back over 2,000 years. In fact, the wildly popular Lambrusco that we introduced to American consumers in 1968 was much the same wine enjoyed by Roman legions as they marched forth to conquer Europe.
