Potatoes Au Gratin (Serves 6)
Ingredients:
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
2 cups milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
1 onion, chopped
1-½ lbs. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. In saucepan, melt butter and combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and milk. Stir until mixture thickens. Set aside. In a large, buttered casserole dish, layer potatoes, onions, and cheese. Repeat. Pour half of the milk mixture on top. Cover casserole and bake for 1 hour. Remove cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until potatoes brown.
